OAuth Implicit Grant (Browser) Being Retired
The Token Implicit Grant (Browser) option for OAuth clients is being deprecated. All new OAuth clients must use PKCE (Proof Key for Code Exchange) from 25 May 2026. Existing implicit grant clients will continue to work but must be migrated to PKCE before 24 May 2027 when the option is fully removed.
- Impacts all orgs using Implicit Grant — including Embeddable Framework apps
- Audit your OAuth clients now and plan migration to PKCE

"All Permissions" Wildcard Logic Removed
As of 4 May 2026, the "including any future permissions" wildcard behaviour has been removed. The "All Permissions" toggle now only selects currently available permissions — new permissions introduced by Genesys will not be auto-granted.
- Existing wildcard roles have been auto-converted to explicit permissions
- API responses now return explicit permission lists, not wildcards
- Review roles regularly and manually add new permissions as needed

Dashboard Web Content URL Widget — Cookie & JS Access Restricted
URLs in Analytics dashboard Web Content widgets will be blocked from accessing browser cookies, local storage, and JavaScript APIs from 18 May 2026. Review any dashboards using this widget and replace dependent URLs before the cutoff.
